  I Can't Believe I Forgot This...

Beast Skills is an AWESOME web site with great tutorials on some of the most challenging bodyweight exercises and physical skills. This is the site that inspired me the most to get into bodyweight exercises.

With that, I give you the Triple Clap Pushup. Learn more at RossTraining.com

Tips (I'll be writing and posting more of these over time.)

 Buy a Book
Scouring the internet yeilds bits and pieces of information, but it can't beat the the organization and portability of a good book. A workout book should be motivating, and have you trying to convince all your friends it's the best workout ever. Find the book that's right for your goals.

 Set Goals
Be it reducing fat, gaining weight, or training for a sport, setting goals will guide you to your target faster.

 Bodyweight before Free Weights
Master bodyweight exercises before picking up any weights. Same applies to using dumbbell exercises to build form, strength and stability before loading up bars with weights. In both cases, you're body will thank you.

 Stretch
Stretching any time of the day is great, in the mornings, before bed, before or after workout. Though I find dynamic stretches better before workout.

 Get a Workout Partner
Pair up with a friend when you workout, it can make workouts more competative, motivating and fun.

  Burpees and More

Burpees are an outstanding full body exercise that can be performed almost anywhere with no equipment. I love this exercise because it is so challenging, and always kicks my ass. This video shows fantastic form.

Try doing 100 Burpees or more. Be sure to time it, break it up into sets and take all the rest you need. Once you're as fast as this guy, you could be in great shape!

 I can't help but say great things about T-Nation. Here are a couple reasons why;
  • Make it Harder is a good read about pushing the difficulty of your workout with some humbling exercises.
  • While the concept of Ribcage Expansion is a bit dated, this article is a very interesting read, and the breathing exercises are good, anytime exercises.

      Sites I like:
This is the first post of my fitness blog. The purpose of this site is to share all the information about fitness, exercise, working out, etc. that I've collected over the years. It is very work-in-progress until I figure out what all to do with it. I'll start by talking about the sites I like.
  • T-Nation has it all. It's an online community providing free articles and information for many years. Search there for most answers.
  •
  • Bodyweight Culture is an online community site devoted completely to bodyweight exercises (push-ups, pull-ups, dips, burpees, etc.) and their many variations. I suggest everyone do bodyweight exercises to build the strength, coodination, and control over the body before moving heavy weights around. Additionally, these are all exercises that can be performed almost anywhere, in minimal space, with no equipment.
  •
  • Combat Fitness Great list of bodyweight exercises and stretch that can be performed almost anywhere. Also has form and links to other useful sites.
  •
  • Dumbbell Exercise Good list of exercises with dumbbells. Great for working out at home or in the gym with just a set of dumbbells.

I'll be posting more sites later on down the road.
